Patti Whitlock,
Breeder of Champion PBGVs
Our Puppies
Centerstage PBGV is a preservation breeder. We follow AKC standards for size, coat, look and type.
Each breed has it’s own unique characteristics and a preservation breeder works to perpetuate those traits. We are members of the PBGV Club of America (PBGVCA) and an AKC Breeder of Merit. We do genetic testing and have studied pedigrees for years. Our goal is to produce champion quality dogs for show and wonderful healthy companions for families. When choosing a dog for your family we advise using a reputable breeder with a track record of producing quality dogs.

How to Reserve Your Puppy

Going Home

Health Guarantee
Please contact Patti by phone, text, email or fill out the form on the Contact page. Ask to be put on the wait list of interested buyers. She will keep you updated on up coming litters. When pregnancy is confirmed by ultrasound, Patti will contact you. She will update you when the litter is born and request a deposit. Photos and videos will be sent so you can follow the development. Puppies can go their new home after nine weeks. Pick up or transportation will be arranged. Payment in full must be made before the puppy can leave.

Puppies can be transported by air or ground. We work with a retired pilot who will fly your puppy in cabin to a major airport near you. You would meet him at the airport and he will hand off your new darling.
We also use ground transportation to much of the country. Our transport guy does a lot of work for the US military and is very reliable. He will bring the dog to your home or arrange to meet you.
You can come pick up your puppy from our location. We are located west of Fort Worth Texas. The closest airports would be DFW or Love Field in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
Discuss out of the United States transport with Patti.

After breeding for 25 years there have been few health issues. That said if there is a problem please contact us. If you experience any health issues we ask you contact Patti. She may be able to help you find a solution.
The puppies don’t leave until after 9 weeks so will have had 2 vet check-ups and 2 sets of puppy shots and microchip. A 3rd set of puppy shots is due around 12 weeks.
If for some reason you cannot keep the puppy at any age we expect first right to have the dog returned to us or we can help arrange the dog to be re-homed through the PBGV Rescue organization. Please never take the dog to a pound or animal control.

Puppy training
While the puppy is with us we start crate training and potting on puppy pads and pine shavings. We highly recommend a dog crate and or an X pen. A 36” crate will work through adulthood. Dogs love their crates as they feel safe and secure there. X pens come in wire and plastic. They can be folded and taken with you as needed. If you are busy and unable to watch the puppy, put them in their crate or X pen. Puppies allowed to run your home unsupervised will get into trouble!
House breaking the easy way! Puppies are going to have accidents. Gently correct them and show them where you want them to potty. You can use a paper towel or cloth and soak up their urine. Than take the towel to where you want them to potty and show them. They can use their olfactory senses to understand the proper place to do their business. When they get it right make sure to praise them.
If puppies are peeing overnight you may want to take water away in the evening. This is not unusual and takes time for the puppy to mature. Make sure they have fresh clean water the rest of the time.
Puppies mature at different rates. Patience is required.
Helpful hints in caring for your
new puppy
Diet is at the top of the list. It is recommended to keep your puppy on a puppy formula until at least 1 year old. We start puppies on Royal Canin medium puppy after they are weaned from their mother. This food is not inexpensive but we have had excellent results. Our adult dogs are fed Victor Classic and Victor HighPro Plus. We have used these foods for several years and have solid stools, healthy weight and good coats.
Ear issues can pop up in most breeds. If you notice your dog scratching their ears they may need treatment. You can clean the ears with a gentle soap. We treat problem ears with Zymox drops. You can buy it from pet stores, Amazon, and most places that sell pet supplies. If the problem persists, contact Patti.
Keeping your dog at the proper weight so very important to their happiness and longevity. Females should not be over 30 lb and males 35 lb. Dogs love treats but don’t get carried away. If your dog is overweight, cut back on food and treats and get plenty of exercise.
PBGVs don’t require a lot of grooming. If they play outside, dirt will generally fall out of their coat. They may get knots in their fur especially on their legs. Patti recommends using a Resco comb that works well and can be obtained from Chewy or Amazon.
